I have been wanting to take Owen to the dentist for a while now, but for some reason I kept putting it off. My hygienist actually recommended waiting until Ben was 1 and taking them together for moral support and behavior control. She also suggested the Pediatric office next door to them. I was able to get them both in for an appointment this morning at 10am. They had a ball! I really could not have asked for a better experience!!!
This is Owen and his dentist, Dr. Angie!(in the rush to get breakfast made, cleaned up, a shower, and get the kids dressed and remember to brush their teeth, I forgot to comb Owen's hair...go figure.)

The waiting room had video games (which we had no idea how to use), a few small toys and this space/planet thing that kept Owen entertained until his turn to go back.

Ben had his teeth looked at first (just after he picked a toothbrush.) His hygienist was Darla. She was super adorable! She even sang twinkle twinkle little star to him (his favorite song!)

Owen picked out a Dora toothbrush.... at least he picked an alligator cover for it!

His hygienist was Lynne she was about as sweet as she could be and very good at explaining everything and making ALL of us feel comfortable!

He really liked playing with the water and suction tools!

Dr.Angie showed him how to use the tweezer things. He called them grabber nabbers...

After a final inspection, both boys got a good dental bill of health! Owen will go back in 3 months for an actual cleaning, I don't imagine it will be hard to get him to go back!
They mentioned that Owen's teeth were crowding and he would probably be a candidate for braces... Ben, on the other hand, had great spacing and would more than likely follow in Danny's footsteps with "boring" teeth!
Ben is also cutting 4 teeth at the moment. This might explain the sleepless nights lately!
Before we left, they gave each boy a t-shirt, trick-or-treat bag for their toothbrushes, and other teeth cleaning goodies (including a little carrying case, brush covers, floss picks, floss, toothpaste and a sand timer), balloons and we got to pick out a pumpkin to bring home.
Don't forget to keep casting your votes for Owen and Ben! You can vote for each boy once every 24 hours :)

Yay for the boys! Cole & Harper were just there last week - they go at the same time, too, for moral support. Harper prefers the purple chair. We missed the pumpkins, though!
Wow!! The dentist trip is a big deal! Way to go Owen!
we just took helayna for her visit last week and i totally forgot to take photos - can you believe it?!?
glad things are going well and they both did awesome!
does your dentist have room for an adult?! That places looks so fun for kids!
Abbie went to Dr. Angie too! I love that office, it's great.
