Ben is who really needs shoes, but he's attached to his Livie and Luca shoes and I don't care for the spring boys style :(

14 weeks

-has GREAT head control

-is almost rolling over from back to belly

-pushes off with her legs when on her belly and when holding her up right, she tries standing

-loves, loves, loves to be talked and sung to

-is showing more interest in soft toys and dangling objects

-loves her blankets and tends to rub them between her fingers

-loves books and music

-stares at Owen and watches his every move

-still naps in the swing and sleeps with me (I should work on breaking both of these habits in the next 2 months!)

- wears size 3 diapers (I have a few left over 2's if anyone can use them.)

-fills out her 3-6 month clothes

-I think, and I may be wrong...I hope I am wrong, but I think Audrey may be teething. I see what looks to be 2 small tooth bumps.... This is not cool! The boys both cut teeth closer to their first birthdays. My last baby can not grow up this fast!

Just blessed!

I know I need major lessons in editing pictures, but Audrey needs no lessons in being cute. Seriously, couldn't you just squeeze those cheeks? I just LOVE her!!!!

(Because Audrey doesn't go to the pedi this month, I just weighed me and then me with her and subtracted the difference and w/clothes and a diaper, Audrey weighs....drum roll please.... 15 lbs. No wonder she needs size 3 diapers. )

Danny surprised me with lunch from Tupelo Honey....
and dinner at the Grove Park Inn on Friday night (too bad my sweet Ben was throwing up the entire time...other than that, it was a perfect evening!)

and muffins for dinner....
Mom came up on Saturday and brought a super yummy cake from Carolina Mountain Bakery, party hats, noise makers and pink plates and napkins....


Everyone was super excited about the party hats...can't you tell :)

a truly wonderful birthday!

(my gifts included.... a new camera. camera strap cover, a canvas of the picture of the kids that Colleen took, money and a gift card to Cold Stone...and lots of phone calls, e-mails, cards and facebook messages.I am one lucky girl for sure!)

12 weeks

My sweet Audrey Kate is 12 weeks old today and less than a week from being 3 months. It's so hard to believe how fast time is going, yet it feels like she has been with us for so long! We love every chubby inch of her precious being for sure!

At 12 weeks she...

-has really discovered her voice and likes to hear herself.

-she gets super excited when we read Brown Bear Brown Bear and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

-She loves the bounce on your knee rhymes like "I have a little pony," and "Ride a little Horsey Go to Town."
- and just like when Owen was little,I get belly laughs from her when I sing " Little Bunny Foo Foo"

-She has discovered her hands and spends a lot of time rubbing them together

-she is almost always holding onto a piece of her clothing, one of ours or a blanket (when she gets excited, she'll pull a blanket over her head...usually a small receiving blanket.)

-bats at toys on her play mat and the ones hanging from her infant carrier

- Still amazed by the ceiling fan and her image in the mirror

- likes to be worn in the Moby Wrap and front carrier

- tends to take a morning nap a little after 9am and an afternoon nap just after lunch

- is wearing size 2 diapers and at the rate she's growing, I'm afraid it won't be for long

- is busting out of her 0-3 month clothes and is now wearing her 3-6 month ones and they are not that big on her.

- loves to look around and to sit on your lap or be held in a position to see forward

- is doing better in the car and when we go out... cries a lot less!

- is hit or miss with the paci (I'm glad I didn't get too excited and go out and buy a ton or any of those cute monogrammed paci clips on Etsy :))

- we are getting control of her cradle cap, whew! I am using the Gentle Naturals when we wash her hair and I just massage it into her hair with a soft brush and the comb her hair and scalp when it's dry. I've also stared using Burt's Bees shampoo on her hair and it seems to be less drying than the Johnson's Shampoo I have for the boys.

-has started sucking her thumb

-makes a cute "chewy" face

- is almost rolling over from back to front

I see so much of both Owen and Ben in her. She has Owen's chubbiness, hands, feet, cheeks and chin, but Ben's eyes and nose. She certainly has her own look, but I am so curious to see who she'll favor more. Regardless, it's a win win :)

I am sure there is more, I am just trying to get a list going for her baby book....

little rays of sunshine

I spent Saturday in bed trying to kick pink eye, a sinus infection and mastitis, so Sunday morning I got up with Ben and Audrey while Owen and Danny slept in. Once Audrey went down for her morning nap, Ben and I went out on the porch to blow bubbles and play with sidewalk chalk. I enjoyed my Ben time for sure!


Once Owen woke up, he was all about getting in on the bubble action. He takes his bubble blowing very seriously!
Audrey even got a dose of sunshine...it really does a body good!
this picture just makes me smile. I think her hands look just like mine, but chubby and much smaller :)
The boys also spent some time riding Owen's bike, playing in the backyard, lunch on the porch and a trip to get ice cream at Coldstone (before dinner), now that's a treat :)
