Well Checks

Today I took Audrey in for her 12 month well check and Owen went for his 5 year.

Audrey did great! She was laughing, giggling, talking and making lots of sounds for the doctor and nurse. She did all things on the ASQ questionnaire while we were in the exam room, which was perfect and reassuring that she is indeed right on track.

The only concern is that she may be lactose intolerant. She threw up a lot as a baby and does so now when she eats yogurt, cheese and drinks milk. We may have to switch her to soy....

She received several shots, the hemoglobin prick and the flu vaccine (well booster...I guess.) She cried for a second and then was back to her happy self.

Her 12 month stats:

weight:  21 lbs 8 oz (50%)
height: 31 inches (90-95%)
head : 19.3 inches (above 97 %)

Owen had school today and right after school he had Spanish class from 1-2, so Danny picked him up and brought him to the doctors office for his check up. I wasn't in the hall when they did his weight, hearing, vision test, so I don't have that information to record. He was such a basket case when we left that I didn't have time to wait for the nurse to print everything off for me...

She did say he did great with his vision and hearing test though and he answered all the ASQ questions that he was supposed to do on his own...all by himself. His doctor suggested I get him some of the BOB books, so I may try and pick up a set for him or see if they have them at our library.

He had 3 shots and the flu mist, cried like a baby and had to be held down by 2 nurses and myself.

Ben hid under the nurses desk and rubbed her leg while she was administering Owen's shots. He asked the doctor where Netflix and Angry Birds was on his computer; making me want to climb up under the desk and hide.
